August 2025 News
Greetings from Ritter Church!
Join us on Sunday, August 17th after the Worship Service for a pitch-in lunch. Bring your favorite dish or two to share and have lunch with us. We are inviting our Shepherd's Storehouse folks. Catch up with friends and start some new friendships.
My Friends and Me will begin on August 15 instead of August 8th due to illness. My Friends and Me is for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their adults. We will meet on Friday mornings at 11 am for silly songs, stories and playing with friends. Adult must attend with their child. Contact Karen Young for questions.
Ladies' Bible Study will begin on September 2nd. We meet in fellowship hall from 6:30-8 pm on the first and third Tuesdays. When there is a fifth Tuesday we have a ladies night out. Study books will be available soon. Contact Karen Young for questions.
Celebrate Recovery happens every Sunday night from 6 to 8 pm in the Worship Center. This is a great place to find healing for hurts, habits and hang-ups. Check out the information table in the foyer or contact Pat and Becky Fellows for additional information.
No Thursday night prayer meeting this summer.
Shepherd's Storehouse Food Pantry is open on Monday August 11 and August 25th. Bible Study meets from 4:30 to 5:25 pm. Food pantry runs from 5:30 until 7:30. Donations of food, hygiene products and grocery bags are always welcome. Check out our Amazon link on our church website or click here. We now have clothes and household items available for our clients. We are currently accepting donations of household items and men's clothes. We are not in need of women's clothes right now.
Golden Agers (and those who like lunch) will be meeting on Friday, August 22nd, at 1 pm. Location to be determined. I will email the location once it has been decided.
LBOA and finance committee will meet on Tuesday, August 26th, Finance at 6 pm and LBOA at 7 pm.
From the Pastor's Desk:
Dear Beloved in Christ,
As we enter the month of August, we find ourselves in a season of both reflection and preparation. Summer is beginning to wane, and many of us are savoring the final days of rest before the busyness of fall returns—school starting up, routines reestablished, and ministry activities ramping up again.
In this transition time, I encourage each of you to pause and reflect: How has God met you this summer? What moments of rest, joy, or challenge have deepened your faith? Sometimes it's in the quieter months, when the pace slows, that we hear God most clearly.
At the same time, let us begin looking forward. August reminds us that a new season of ministry is upon us. There are new opportunities to serve, new people to welcome, and new lessons to learn. Whether you are returning from vacation or continuing through a busy season of work, I invite you to re-engage with the life of our church.
Please mark your calendars for our all Church pitch-in after the morning worship on August 17th. These are moments where we gather not just to worship, but to grow together in love, faith, and purpose. Don’t forget to bring a dish or dessert to share with everyone!
Let us continue to be a people who do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up.
May the Lord bless you and keep you in these final summer weeks. I look forward to walking with you into this next season, hand in hand and heart to heart.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Steven
